The Sacrifice of Iphigenia
Achilles arrived with his Myrmidons and friend Patroclus. The fleet was stranded with no wind. The oracle said Diana demanded Agamemnon sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia because he had offended her. Agamemnon reluctantly agreed, but as the priest was about to kill her, Diana carried her away and substituted a deer. The wind rose, the fleet sailed to Troy, and a ten-year war began. Neither side could gain advantage despite many battles.
