The Cid: Serving an Unjust King

The Cid becomes Spain's greatest warrior, his battle cry "Santiago!" striking fear into the Moors. But he must serve King Alfonso, who is jealous and unjust. When Alfonso's brother is murdered, the Cid makes Alfonso swear publicly that he had no part in it - humiliating the king. Alfonso never forgives him. The Cid serves faithfully despite knowing the king wishes him ill.
