Huon of Bordeaux: Redemption Through Suffering

Separated and enslaved, Huon and Rezia endure terrible suffering with faithful hearts. Rezia resists all temptation. Huon remains true. After long penance, they find each other again. Oberon forgives them and welcomes them to fairyland, where Huon eventually succeeds Oberon as fairy king. Suffering purified what pleasure had corrupted.
