Kriemhild forces Rüdiger to fight his friends - his oath traps him, and he dies fighting Gernot. Only Gunther and Hagen survive. Dietrich captures them. Kriemhild beheads Gunther to extract the treasure's location; Hagen refuses. She kills Hagen with Siegfried's own sword. Hildebrand kills her for this treachery. All are dead.
