Milo of Croton

Milo of Croton was the strongest man of his time. He trained by carrying a calf daily until it became a full ox. He once carried an ox for miles, killed it with one blow, and ate it in a single meal. He also held up a falling roof to save his companions. When old, Milo tried to split a tree with his bare hands, but his fingers got trapped. Unable to free himself, he was killed by wild beasts.
